What a GLP-1 visit covers

A conversation, not a refill
We review weight history, prior diets, current medications, sleep, stress, and what has already been tried. If GLP-1 or dual GLP-1/GIP medication is a fit, we talk through how it works, what a starting dose looks like, and what follow-up is required.
Labs first
Labs usually come before or with the first plan. Common markers include a metabolic panel, A1c, lipids, and thyroid when symptoms suggest it. Results help decide whether medication is appropriate and set a baseline to compare later.
Food, protein, and strength
Medication is only one piece. Protein intake, strength work, and a realistic meal pattern matter more once appetite drops, so weight loss does not come only from muscle.
Follow-up that adjusts
Follow-up visits check weight trend, side effects, dose tolerance, and whether the plan still matches the goal. If a different path fits better, such as nutrition-only care, labs for another cause of weight gain, or a referral, we say so.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need labs first?

Usually yes. Labs help us confirm that GLP-1 care is appropriate and set a starting plan. Blood draws can be done at Kee Health.

Is everyone a candidate for GLP-1 medication?

No. Candidacy depends on history, labs, current medications, and goals. We will tell you if another path is a better fit.

Who provides GLP-1 visits?

GLP-1 visits are with Dr. Cheryl Koelling, DC (Dr. K), Kee Health's founder. See Meet the team.

How is this different from an online refill clinic?

Care is local and provider guided, with labs, nutrition support, and follow-up, not a one-size refill.

Can this pair with nutrition or lifestyle coaching?

Yes. GLP-1 care sits inside Functional and Lifestyle Medicine, so nutrition and lifestyle support can be part of the same plan.

How are side effects handled?
